As we approach the final weeks of this term, we’ve been working tirelessly to implement user feedback and enhance our website. A major focus has been completing the Privacy Impact Assessment and addressing Cloud Security concerns. We’ve been collaborating closely with Gary, the Director of Online Systems, whose guidance has been invaluable in identifying and mitigating risks related to the security of users’ personal information.

This past week, INSPIRE team members tested the website and brainstormed ways to improve its functionality and user experience. Suggestions included adding colour-coded notes, and course tags, and creating a more intuitive interface. Our efforts have been centred on addressing these improvements and refining the design to make the platform more professional and engaging for students.
During this time, we also met with Gary to plan the next steps for integrating our website into Brightspace. He has granted us API access to course names and deadlines and approved pilot sessions with classrooms to test the website. We are now finalizing the required certifications to ensure our research with students meets ethical standards.

Looking ahead, our primary goals for the remainder of the term include completing the privacy and security compliance forms, finalizing website adjustments to ensure usability across multiple devices, including phones, and preparing for the final conference. This event will serve as an exciting culmination of our hard work, where we’ll showcase our product and its potential impact.

This is just the beginning of something bigger. Next term, our platform will be integrated into students’ Brightspace course pages, marking a significant milestone for our project. We’re thrilled about what’s to come!
