This past sprint has been particularly challenging for our team. We entered the sprint with a clear set of requirements and constraints regarding the feasibility of our tool’s presence on Brightspace. However, by the end, we found ourselves with an entirely different set of requirements. These changes, while unexpected, have tested our adaptability and problem-solving skills. Despite the setbacks, we remain committed to delivering something meaningful, particularly for the neurodiverse student community.
While the project has undergone significant shifts, challenging our motivation, and determination, We’ve remained focused on the core goal: creating a tool that will positively impact the educational experience for neurodiverse students. While the half-way point of our term quickly approaches, we are still pushing hard to use our potential for an impact.
This sprint has also highlighted the importance of diversity within a team. Whether it’s technical expertise, point of view, communication, or creative problem-solving, each team member has contributed something valuable, and has shared key insights into how we can adapt. We’ve been able to leverage these strengths to continue pushing forward, even in uncertain circumstances.
As we reflect on this sprint, we acknowledge the difficulties we’ve faced, but we also recognize the progress we’ve made. Moving forward, we’re more confident in our ability to adapt and thrive, knowing that the work we’re doing has the potential to create a lasting impact, no matter how it’s presented. We’re eager to finish the project with a tool that genuinely meets the needs of neurodiverse students and enriches their learning experiences.
